Septal perforators for an S-GAP flap: Preliminary study. Figure 4.6 Color Doppler imaging of a septal perforator in a volunteer. Gluteus maximus and medius muscle indicated. RESULTS Anatomical study: In every corps at least 1 septal perforator passing between the gluteus maximus and medius muscle was found: only one corps had no septal perforator on one side. The range was 0-4, (0-2 for the left and 1-4 for the right side). All perforators originated from the anterior branch of the superficial branch of the superior gluteal artery: the distances from line A and line B and the length of the pedicles are represented in fig 4.7 and tab 4.1. Color Doppler study: In all volunteers at least 1 septal perforator between the gluteus maximus and medius muscle was found. Nine volunteers had septal perforators on both sides: one volunteer had no septal perforator on one side. The range was 0-4, (1-3 for the left and 0-4 for the right side). The distances from line A and B are represented in fig 4.8 and tab 4.2. 54
