Heredity, reproduction and early development specialty: ‘PGD’ Preimplantation Genetic Diagnostics (PGD) is part of the Heredity, reproduction and early development specialty. A healthy life starts already at an early age. We take an integral approach to prevention and to the care for mother and child from just before conception up to the period after birth. Our collaboration, scientific knowledge and expertise in the field of reproduction, heredity and predisposition give us an advantage in promoting a good start of life. This applies to fundamental research into the impact of genetics and epigenetics as well as the clinical application of PGD and the attention we give to ethical issues involved. Areas of focus include genetic counselling, fertility improvement, embryo selection, prenatal diagnostics and neonatal intensive care. With all our hearts, we are dedicated to provide the best possible care and to improve health by integrating patient care, research and education.
